Connie Cox was the kindest person with the biggest heart you will ever meet. She had two passions in life -- her Ohio State Buckeyes and the people of Gaitu, Kenya. After being diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2021, Connie passed on Sept. 10, 2021. But her work continues to build a medical clinic there.
Connie's dream of a medical clinic in Gaitu is becoming reality. Land has been secured; surveying and fencing has been done; water and sewer lines are being mapped and building plans and materials are being researched. Pre-fab buildings are being considered for the compound.
Hey folks, tomorrow (Feb. 2, or 2-2-22) will be Connie's 59th birthday, her first in Heaven. For those who knew her, 22 was HER number! And she liked to be known as Connie Cox the Fox! So, tomorrow we are declaring it The Fox Day. And if you feel so moved, please consider donating (see info below).
It pains us to tell you Connie's latest news. She and her family have decided to call in hospice to give her comfort as she finishes her race.

The missionary group has built everything from a water filtration system to a school. Now the goal is a medical clinic that will save hundreds of thousands of lives.

During her mission trips to Gaitu, Kenya, Connie really loved the interaction with the children. So, her favorite activity was organizing soccer and basketball games and spreading Buckeye Love. She taught the kids the O-H-I-O cheer and even built a basketball court on the school grounds complete with a backboard that signifies the court as "Buckeye Country."
